So, how do you make a perfect playlist for a vacation? Well, for an upcoming trip to Vegas, we decided to use Google Maps as our guide to break the trip into some themed blocks. Here are some of the highlights:

Desert Passage – “Country Roads” John Denver, “Life is a Highway” Tom Cochrane, “California” Phantom Planet
Pre-Barstow Power (ballad) hour- “I’ll Remember” Madonna, “Power of Love” Celine Dion, “How Will I Know” Whitney Houston
Post-Barstow Karaoke KarRide – “Don’t Stop Believin’” Glee Soundtrack, “Mamma Mia” Mamma Mia – the Movie Soundtrack, “Under the Sea” The Little Mermaid
Entering Nevada – “Bad Romance” Lady Gaga, “3″ Britney Spears, “Ridin’ Solo” Jason Derulo
Driving Down the Strip – “I Gotta Feeling” Black Eyed Peas, “Right Round” Flo Rida
And then, to get in the mood for the impending bad decisions and epic after-the-fact stories, a viewing of Britney Spear’s 2007 VMA “performance” of Gimme More is the only thing that seems appropriate enough.
